Cody Duhaime Memorial Fund
Welcome to our site.
We are a small non-profit based in Meota, Saskatchewan that hosts an annual 5K Memorial Walk in honour of the late Cody Duhaime. In September of 2016 we lost a loved one to the battle with mental health. Through our loss and seeing other families in our community going through crisis, we decided to put our efforts towards prevention, awareness and education. We have donated to the Battleford Mental Health Centre, Sakewew High School (North Battleford), Crystal's House, and Light of Christ Catholic School division in the past three years.
We believe that to make an impact we need to educate our students. When we found out about the SafeTALK program that is offered in schools across Canada we knew that it was the something we wanted to support.
Cody's suicide changed our family. It caused us to grow in ways that we would not have at that time without his death. We stand in support of the families in our community whose lives have been impacted by the loss of a loved one.
Our mission is to empower the students in our community with the knowledge and confidence to speak to their peers about mental health and suicide.
